Dis-Chem Pharmacies has an opportunity available for a Social Media Manager for their Head Office.The Social Media Manager is responsible for the execution and optimisation of social media campaigns that build brand awareness, engagement, and relevance for Dis-Chem. The role translates approved campaign strategies and content plans into platform-appropriate social executions, ensuring consistency with brand guidelines and alignment with integrated marketing campaigns, while actively managing community engagement and performance.
Minimum Requirements…
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Marketing, Public Relations, or relatedfield
- 5+ years’ experience in social media, digital marketing, content management, community management, or platform marketing roles within retail, FMCG, healthcare, consumer-facing, or agency environments.
- 5–8 years’ experience in a leadership or people management role within fast-paced content, digital, or multidisciplinary marketing environments.
- Experience managing agencies, creators, influencers, or platform partnersrequired
- Experience in retail, healthcare, FMCG, or consumer-facing environmentsadvantageous
Responsibilities
Social media campaign execution
- Execute social media campaigns aligned to the marketing calendar and campaign objectives
- Publish, schedule, and manage content across all social media platforms
- Ensure content is accurate, engaging, on-brand, platform-relevant, and aligned to campaign briefs, brand tone and guidelines
Content coordination and engagement
- Collaborate with Creative, Content, and Campaign teams to deliver engaging social media assets
- Support community engagement by monitoring comments, messages, and interactions in line with engagement guidelines.
- Ensure timely delivery and consistency across all social touchpoints
- Escalate customer issues or reputational risks in line with agreed governanceprocesses
Performance monitoring and optimisation
- Track and report on key social media performance metrics (reach, engagement, growth)
- Identify opportunities to optimise content, formats, and posting schedules
- Support campaign reviews and continuous improvement of socialperformance
Competencies

- Experience executing social media campaigns within retail, General Merchandise, or consumer brand environments.
- Strong understanding of major social platforms, content formats, publishing tools, andengagementmechanics
- Ability to translate campaign objectives into effective social content andexecutions
