Job Description

Dis-Chem Pharmacies Head Office has an opportunity available for a Social Media Coordinator for the Biogen team. The Social Media Coordinator will be responsible for coordination and assisting the Social Media team with developing and implementing social media plans to increase the companies brand awareness and engagement on all social media platforms.

Minimum Requirements

Essential:

Grade 12 – Matric or a Senior Certificate.
Diploma in Marketing/ Digital Marketing/ Communications or related field
Minimum of 2- 3 years’ experience working in a similar capacity in either an agency or corporate setting.

Advantageous

Job Description

Social Media:

Co-ordinate and maintain the social media business presence across various targeted social media channels.
Provide on-going oversight and coordination of all aspects regarding social interfaces such as content, broadsheets, analysis, new ideas (contests, promos, online/social exclusives etc.), lead generation and content syndication methods
Stay up-to-date with social media trends and changes to algorithms and adjust implementations accordingly.
Assist in planning, organizing and executing social media activities within the business.
Ensure maintenance and updates of content for social media campaigns.
Ensure that social media campaigns are executed parallel to the marketing calendar.

Content:

Support event awareness on the relevant social media channels.
Provide suggestions on new ways to attract prospective customers through engagement, promotions and competitions.
Design posts to sustain readers’ curiosity and create buzz around new products
Regularly track and monitor the company’s online reputation and social media presence, responding appropriately to both positive and negative reviews and comments.
Monitor internet for brand related topics of conversation.

Customer Relations:

Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing and customer service, to ensure brand consistency and gather content to be used across all channels.
Actively engage with and respond to followers and customers through various social media platforms to foster a strong community of supporters.

Reporting:

Use social media analytics tools to track and report on the performance of social media campaigns.
Manage multiple social media accounts across various platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Tit Tok.
Knowledge of social media influencer marketing and how to identify and engage with influencers in relevant industries or niches
Research audience preferences and discover current trends

General:

Adhere to Dis-Chem Policies and Procedures and Standard Operating Procedures.
Adhere to Health and Safety rules and regulations.

Knowledge – Knowledge of social media platforms, best practices.
Cognitive Skills – Planning abilities, able to analyse data and solve problems

Interpersonal skills – Collaborative mindset and ability to work well with others.
Quality Orientation – Attention to detail in content creation and curation. Desire to continuously improve and optimize social media campaigns.
Self-Management Skills – Time management skills to meet deadlines with an adaptability and flexibility to meet changing deadlines..
Technical skills – Proficiency in Social Media Platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tik Tok and Linked In. Knowledge of Social Media management tools like Hootsuite, Falcon, sprout or similar. Familiarity with social media analytics tools.
