Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Well Integrity Engineer for our client in Vereeniging, Gauteng. You will maintain the structural and operational integrity of wells through lifecycle, develop management systems, and oversee risk assessments and inspections.

You will work with drilling, operations and maintenance teams to prevent incidents and protect the environment. This is a site-based, hands-on role requiring strong field discipline and problem-solving.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in petroleum or mechanical engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in well integrity, well operations, or related field in oil and gas.
• Knowledge of well design, construction, completion, and abandonment principles.
• Familiarity with well integrity standards (e.g., ISO 16530-1) and regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive well integrity management plans and procedures.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and barrier analyses for wells.
• Oversee well integrity testing, inspection, and monitoring programs.
• Analyze well integrity data and recommend corrective actions or maintenance interventions.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical support and guidance on well integrity issues to operations and engineering teams.
