Job summary

Shift Pursuit in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Site Agent / Construction Manager to coordinate daily activities across multiple active sites, ensuring work complies with drawings, specifications and programmes.

The successful candidate will have sound knowledge of JBCC contracts, proven leadership over trades and subcontractors, and a strong focus on safety, quality, progress reporting and stakeholder coordination.

Qualifications

Introduction:

A well-established company within the design and construction industry is seeking an experienced Site Agent / Construction Manager to join its team in Cape Town. The successful candidate must have sound knowledge of JBCC contracts and the ability to coordinate multiple trades across active construction sites.

Key Performance Areas:

• Manage and coordinate daily construction activities across multiple sites.
• Supervise trades, subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams.
• Ensure construction work complies with drawings, specifications, programmes, and quality standards.
• Monitor project progress and proactively address delays or site-related challenges.
• Manage site activities in accordance with JBCC contractual requirements.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety requirements.
• Monitor workmanship, materials, productivity, and site resources.
• Prepare progress reports and maintain accurate site documentation.
• Oversee snagging, quality inspections, and project handovers.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Site Agent, Construction Manager, or in a similar site-based role.
• Sound working knowledge of JBCC contracts.
• Experience managing multiple trades and subcontractors simultaneously.
• Good knowledge of construction methods, project programmes, quality control, and health and safety requirements.
• Strong leadership, communication, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple site priorities effectively.
• Relevant construction-related qualifications would be advantageous.
• A valid driver’s licence and reliable transport would be advantageous.
