Job summary

Crew Life at Sea Ltd. in South Africa seeks an energetic Steward/ess to clean guest cabins and public areas, assist guests, restock supplies, and manage laundry and waste on board. You will work with other departments to ensure smooth operations and guest comfort.

The role requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, with strong English communication, a team attitude, and a commitment to hygiene and safety on a cruise ship.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service skills with a friendly attitude.
• Meticulous attention to detail in cleaning and restocking.
• Good physical stamina for long shifts and heavy items.
• Willing to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays.
• English fluency; additional languages advantageous.
• Experience in customer service or housekeeping preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Cabin and public area cleaning, making beds, changing linens, restocking amenities.
• Provide friendly guest assistance and attend to inquiries and requests.
• Restock supplies and monitor inventory, report shortages.
• Laundry collection, sorting, processing and delivery.
• Ensure proper waste disposal and cleanliness in all areas.
• Follow safety, emergency protocols and use PPE as required.
• Collaborate with housekeeping, food & beverage, and guest services.
• Maintain hygiene and sanitation standards and proper chemical handling.
• Adapt to different ship areas and changing schedules.
• Deliver high levels of guest service to ensure satisfaction.
• Meet minimum age requirements set by the cruise line.
