Job summary

West Coast Personnel seeks an experienced SHE Manager to lead safety programs, ensure compliance with the OHS Act and environmental legislation, and drive continuous improvement across production sites.

You will conduct HIRA, audits and incident investigations, while coordinating safety training, contractor safety, and emergency preparedness. Strong admin, reporting, and stakeholder influence are essential for success.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or Degree in Safety Management, Environmental Management, Occupational Health & Safety or similar.
• 35 years' SHE experience, preferably in manufacturing, food processing or production.
• Strong knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Practical experience with HIRA, incident investigations, audits and contractor safety.
• Strong administration, reporting and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and influence employees at all levels.
• Advantageous: Ammonia Plant Safety Management, environmental legislation and SMETA/ethical audit experience.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain the SHE Management System in line with the OHS Act and company standards.
• Conduct HIRA assessments, SHE inspections and internal audits.
• Investigate incidents, accidents and near misses and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate SHE training, inductions and safety awareness programmes.
• Manage contractor safety, PPE compliance and emergency preparedness.
• Support customer, certification and SMETA audits.
• Monitor fire safety, first aid, waste management and security compliance.
• Maintain SHE records, statistics and monthly management reports.
• Promote a strong and proactive safety culture across the operation.
