Job summary

Barloworld Equipment (Pty) Ltd in Mpumalanga seeks a Senior Service Manager to lead service operations for earthmoving equipment. You will manage the service support staff, budgets, and cost control, while delivering technical support and proactive warranty management.

Qualifications

• Matric or equivalent.
• B.Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) degree, or Caterpillar-certified earth-moving technician.
• Basic management qualification beneficial.
• 10 years post-qualification experience in technician/ supervisory roles.
• Good understanding of machine operating systems.
• Well experienced in machine troubleshooting.
• 3+ years in service management/customer interface.
• Good communication skills (written, verbal, presentation).
• Effective negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently, under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Initiative and creative problem solving.
• Good knowledge of earthmoving equipment and industry.
• High computer literacy including SAP exposure.
• Self-motivated and an effective leader.
• Ability to influence and drive results.
• Knowledge of Caterpillar components and industry.
• Business development knowledge.
• Strong technical background in equipment management.
• Financial and strategic management abilities.
• Track record in leading people in team environments.
• Experience with business planning/budgeting and strategic planning.
• Good customer relations.

Responsibilities

• Manage service support staff, budget and cost control.
• Provide technical support to service support technicians and service team.
• Relationship building with external and internal customers.
• Proactively liaise with Principal to resolve problems and build relationships.
• Manage costing team and CRM/SAP related issues.
• Oversee Warranty process and provide support to Warranty Technicians.
• Manage Work-in-Progress, productivity and profitability.
