Job summary

The Talent Room is seeking an experienced Workshop Manager in George, Western Cape to oversee daily workshop operations. You will supervise technicians and support staff, allocate jobs, and monitor workflow to maintain a high standard of repair and service across construction equipment, vehicles and machinery.

Applicants must have 10+ years in relevant repair work and proven workshop leadership, with a trade qualification. Strong diagnostic abilities and proficiency in MS Office are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years' experience repairing and maintaining construction equipment, petrol and electric, motor vehicles and mechanical machinery.
• Previous workshop management experience is essential.
• Relevant trade qualification or mechanical certification.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.
• Computer literacy with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook/Email.
• Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the workshop.
• Supervise and lead workshop technicians and support staff.
• Plan, allocate and monitor workshop jobs to ensure efficient workflow.
• Diagnose, service and repair construction equipment, motor vehicles and mechanical machinery.
• Perform preventative maintenance and fault-finding on equipment.
• Ensure repairs are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
• Maintain workshop productivity and minimise equipment downtime.
• Order and manage workshop parts, tools and consumables.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate service records and workshop documentation.
