Placements24 is seeking a proficient Wireless Network Engineer to design, deploy, and optimize robust wireless networks for diverse clients in Richards Bay. You will lead from site surveys to deployment, testing, and ongoing support, ensuring secure and reliable connectivity across challenging field environments.

The role requires a deep understanding of 802.11, LTE/5G, RF principles, and hands-on problem solving.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in wireless network design, implementation, and support.
• Proficiency with wireless technologies such as 802.11 standards, cellular (LTE/5G), and RF principles.
• Experience with network management tools and wireless security solutions.
• Ability to perform site surveys and analyze RF spectrum data.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in field settings.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy wireless networks, including Wi‑Fi, cellular, and point‑to‑point solutions, ensuring optimal coverage and performance.
• Conduct site surveys to identify optimal locations for wireless equipment and assess potential interference.
• Install, configure, and maintain wireless access points, controllers, and related hardware.
• Monitor wireless network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and implement solutions to enhance reliability.
• Develop and implement wireless network security protocols to protect data and prevent unauthorized access.
• Provide technical support and expertise to field technicians and end‑users regarding wireless connectivity.
