Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proficient Wireless Network Engineer for Port Elizabeth to design, deploy, and manage wireless networks including Wi‑Fi and cellular systems. You will perform site surveys, optimize access point placement, and troubleshoot controllers and equipment to ensure robust connectivity for diverse clients.

The role requires 4+ years in wireless engineering, knowledge of 802.11/LTE/5G, RF principles, and security, plus hands-on experience with survey tools and design software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in wireless network engineering.
• Strong understanding of wireless protocols (e.g., 802.11, LTE, 5G), RF principles, and security.
• Hands-on experience with wireless network design tools and site survey equipment.
• Certifications such as CWNA, CWNP, or equivalent are a plus.
• Ability to work effectively in the field and troubleshoot complex wireless issues in Port Elizabeth.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage wireless networks, including Wi‑Fi, cellular, and point‑to‑point systems.
• Conduct site surveys to determine optimal placement of wireless access points and equipment.
• Configure and troubleshoot wireless controllers, access points, and associated hardware.
• Monitor network performance and implement optimizations to enhance speed and reliability.
• Develop security protocols for wireless networks to ensure data protection.
• Collaborate with the core network team to integrate wireless solutions seamlessly.
