Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Telecommunications Field Engineer to lead network infrastructure deployment and maintenance in the Richards Bay region. The role combines hands-on site work with project coordination to ensure high-performance, reliable telecom solutions.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years in telecom field engineering, with expertise in wireless and wired systems, and strong leadership and communication skills for remote-first team coordination from Richards Bay.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in telecommunications field engineering or a similar role.
• Proficiency with network testing equipment and diagnostic software.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site surveys and assessments for new telecommunications installations and upgrades.
• Supervise installation teams to ensure correct deployment of network equipment.
• Perform technical troubleshooting and provide on-site support for complex network issues.
• Test and commission new network segments and equipment, ensuring compliance with specifications.
• Collaborate with project managers and clients to define project scope, requirements, and timelines.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulatory compliance in all field operations.
