Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, inspections, and diagnostic testing on wind turbines.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Execute complex component replacements (gearboxes, generators, pitch systems) with safety.
• Ensure work complies with policies, environmental regulations, and industry best practices.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Senior Wind Turbine Technician to join their operations team in Vereeniging . This role is crucial for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of wind energy assets. You will perform complex diagnostics, maintenance, and repair activities on wind turbines, often in challenging conditions. While primarily an on-site role, there will be opportunities for remote collaboration on technical documentation and planning. Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, inspections, and detailed diagnostic testing on wind turbines.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems within wind turbine components.

Requirements

• National Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering, or a relevant trade qualification (e.g., Electrician, Fitter & Turner).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a wind turbine technician, with a strong understanding of various turbine technologies.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, test equipment , and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Working at heights certification and a strong commitment to health and safety procedures.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and physical fitness for demanding tasks.
