Placements24 seeks a Senior Wind Energy Engineer to join a fully remote team focused on wind projects across South Africa. You will lead design, development, and optimization efforts, applying advanced aerodynamics, turbine technology, and wind resource modeling.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in wind energy with strong grid integration knowledge and experience using WAsP/ Windographer and turbine simulation tools. Collaboration with global teams is essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Advanced engineering degree in a related field.
• Minimum 7 years in wind energy with design/analysis focus.
• Strong knowledge of turbine tech, aerodynamics and power curves.
• Proficiency in wind data tools and turbine simulations.
• Experience with grid integration and SA standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee wind energy project development from site assessments to optimization.
• Perform aerodynamic and structural analysis for turbines and farms.
• Develop wind resource and energy production models.
• Specify turbine tech aligned with grid connection standards.
• Coordinate with PM, construction and operations for delivery.
• Troubleshoot turbine performance and wind farm issues.
