Placements24 seeks a Remote Wind Energy Analyst to support feasibility studies and wind resource assessments from home in South Africa. You will model wind patterns, estimate yields, and assess economic viability for wind projects, collaborating with project developers and finance teams.

The role requires 3+ years in wind energy, proficiency with WAsP/ Windographer/ OpenWind, and strong data analytics, with excellent communication for remote teamwork. SA market familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Physics, Meteorology or related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in wind resource assessment or wind energy project development.
• Proficiency with wind energy modeling software (WAsP, Windographer, OpenWind).
• Strong analytical and communication skills for remote collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Perform wind resource assessments using specialized software (e.g., WAsP, Windographer).
• Analyze meteorological data and generate energy production estimates for wind farm sites.
• Conduct feasibility studies and techno-economic analyses for potential wind projects.
• Evaluate site-specific conditions, including terrain, infrastructure, and environmental factors.
• Develop site layouts and turbine selection recommendations.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize wind farm design and performance.
• Prepare comprehensive reports detailing findings, recommendations, and project viability.
• Stay abreast of advancements in wind turbine technology and industry best practices.
• Assist in the due diligence process for project financing and acquisitions.
• Communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
