Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly analytical and empathetic Senior UX Researcher to join our growing team in Soweto, Gauteng. The role focuses on deeply understanding user behaviors to inform product strategy and design decisions.

You will design and execute qualitative and quantitative studies, analyze findings, and translate them into actionable insights that drive exceptional user experiences across platforms. Collaboration with designers, PMs, and engineers is essential to succeed.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in HCI, Psychology, Anthropology, Sociology, Information Science, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional UX research experience.
• Experience planning and executing a variety of research methodologies (qualitative and quantitative).
• Proficiency in analyzing research data and synthesizing complex information into clear, actionable insights.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working collaboratively in an agile product development environment.
• Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and the product development process.
• Familiarity with user research platforms.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and conduct user research studies using a range of qualitative and quantitative methods (e.g., interviews, surveys, usability testing, card sorting, diary studies).
• Identify user needs, pain points, and behaviors to inform product strategy and design.
• Analyze research data, synthesize findings, and generate compelling insights and recommendations.
• Collaborate closely with UX/UI designers, product managers, and engineers to integrate research findings into the product development lifecycle.
• Develop user personas, journey maps, and other artifacts to represent user understanding.
• Present research findings and insights clearly and persuasively to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Advocate for the user and champion user-centered design principles throughout the organization.
• Stay current with the latest UX research methodologies, tools, and industry best practices.
• Manage research projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery of results.
