Placements24 is seeking a Petroleum Engineer for upstream operations in the Midrand region. The role focuses on optimizing oil and gas extraction, reservoir analysis, production forecasting, and EOR implementation, with collaboration across geoscience and production teams.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Petroleum Engineering and 5+ years’ experience, strong drilling and simulation software skills, and a proven ability to work independently within a team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in upstream oil & gas operations.
• Experience with reservoir simulation and production optimization software.
• Strong understanding of drilling engineering principles and techniques.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team in Midrand.

Responsibilities

• Analyze reservoir data to develop and implement effective oil and gas extraction strategies.
• Conduct production forecasting and performance monitoring to optimize well output.
• Design, evaluate, and manage drilling and completion operations.
• Implement enhanced oil recovery (EOR) techniques to maximize resource utilization.
• Collaborate with geoscientists, production technicians, and other engineers to ensure seamless project execution.
• Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and environmental standards in all operational activities.
