Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering with a specialization in Ventilation.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in mine ventilation engineering.
• Proven expertise in ventilation network analysis software (Ventsim, MineCAD) and CFD modeling.
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics and heat transfer.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage mine ventilation systems to ensure optimal air quality and temperature control.
• Conduct ventilation surveys, network analysis, and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling.
• Develop and implement strategies for heat stress management and dust control in underground operations.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations in Pretoria, Gauteng.
• Oversee the selection, installation, and maintenance of ventilation equipment, including fans, ducting, and auxiliary systems.
• Provide expert advice and technical support to mine planning and operations teams.
• Investigate and resolve ventilation-related issues, including fugitive emissions and recirculation problems.
• Develop and manage ventilation budgets and long-term ventilation plans.
• Train and mentor junior ventilation engineers and site personnel.
• Prepare comprehensive reports on ventilation performance, risks, and improvement initiatives.
