Placements24 seeks a Senior Turbomachinery Engineer to lead technical oversight for turbomachinery in energy operations based in Mahikeng, North West. You will drive performance analysis, maintenance strategies, and major overhauls, collaborating with operations and maintenance teams to uphold asset integrity.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in rotating equipment, gas/steam turbines, vibration analysis, API/ASME familiarity, and strong leadership.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of turbomachinery engineering experience in energy sector (power plants, refineries).
• In-depth knowledge of gas turbines, steam turbines, and centrifugal/axial compressors.
• Experience with condition monitoring, vibration analysis and performance testing.
• Familiarity with API/ASME standards.

Responsabilidades

• Provide expert technical support for operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of turbomachinery.
• Conduct performance analysis and diagnostics of turbines, compressors, and related rotating equipment.
• Develop and implement predictive and preventive maintenance strategies.
• Oversee major overhauls and repairs of turbomachinery.
• Review designs and specifications for new installations and upgrades.
• Investigate failures, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with manufacturer recommendations, industry standards and safety.
• Manage external service providers and contractors.
• Train and mentor junior engineers and maintenance personnel.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of equipment reliability and efficiency.
