Key Responsibilities

• Operate heavy-duty trucks for long-haul transportation of goods across various provinces.
• Plan and execute routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules and deadlines.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, ensuring roadworthiness and reporting any defects.
• Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and delivery details.
• Ensure proper loading and unloading of cargo, securing it appropriately to prevent damage.
• Provide excellent customer service during pick-ups and deliveries.
• Perform basic maintenance and ensure the cleanliness of the truck.
• Report any incidents, accidents, or delays to the operations manager immediately.
• Collaborate with dispatchers to coordinate schedules and address any logistical challenges.

Requirements

• Valid Code 14 (EC) driver's license with a PrDP (Professional Driving Permit).
• Minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience as a long-haul truck driver.
• Excellent knowledge of South African road networks and regional routes.
• Proven track record of safe driving and a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a medical examination and drug screening.
