About the Role

Our client, a well-established and reputable transport company, is seeking dedicated and experienced Commercial Truck Drivers for long-haul routes. This is a full-time, non-remote position based in George, Western Cape, ZA . The successful candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting goods across various regions. Key Responsibilities

• Operate commercial trucks in a safe, legal, and efficient manner according to company policies and DOT regulations.
• Transport goods and materials to designated locations within specified timeframes.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, including checking tires, brakes, lights, and other safety equipment.
• Report any vehicle malfunctions or safety concerns to the maintenance department immediately.
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, routes, and delivery details using electronic logging devices (ELDs).
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations.
• Ensure the secure loading and unloading of cargo.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status and any issues encountered.
• Maintain a clean and organized vehicle interior.
• Represent the company professionally at all times.

Requirements

• Valid Code 14 (EC) driver's license with an up-to-date PrDP.
• Minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience as a long-haul truck driver.
• Clean driving record with no major violations or accidents.
• Proficiency in using GPS navigation and electronic logging devices (ELDs).
• Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and report issues.
• Strong understanding of road safety procedures and regulations.
• Physical ability to lift and maneuver goods when necessary.
• Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel long distances and adhere to irregular schedules.
• Must be physically fit and able to pass a medical examination.
