You will perform pre-trip inspections, manage logs, secure cargo, and communicate with dispatch while traveling extensively and sometimes working weekends.

• Requires 5+ years of verifiable long-haul driving experience.
• Valid South African Driver's License (Code 14) and PDP.

Based out of Centurion, Gauteng , this position involves transporting goods across various provinces of South Africa , requiring long hours and dedication. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of heavy-duty vehicles, a commitment to safety, and the ability to manage their time effectively on the road. This role is crucial for ensuring the timely and secure delivery of essential cargo, contributing significantly to the national supply chain. Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy-duty commercial trucks (e.g., articulated trucks, semi-trailers) on long-haul routes.
• Transport freight efficiently and securely, adhering to delivery schedules and routes.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring roadworthiness and reporting any defects.
• Secure cargo properly using straps, tarps, and other securing devices.
• Comply with all national and provincial traffic regulations and company policies.
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and delivery details.
• Manage fuel consumption and vehicle maintenance records effectively.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other stakeholders.
• Handle any roadside emergencies or breakdowns professionally and safely.
• Ensure the cleanliness of the truck cabin and trailer.

Requirements

• Valid South African Driver's License (Code 14).
• Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
• Minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience as a long-haul truck driver.
• Proven experience operating various types of heavy-duty commercial vehicles.
• Excellent understanding of road safety regulations and defensive driving techniques.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively for extended periods.
