Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Transportation Engineer in Paarl, Western Cape, to advance urban mobility through planning, design, and implementation of transportation infrastructure. You will work on public transport optimization, traffic management, and cycling networks within a collaborative team.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in Transportation Engineering (Master’s preferred), 5+ years of experience, and familiarity with SA transport policies. ECSA registration is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Transportation or Civil Engineering.
• Master's degree preferred.
• 5+ years in transportation engineering.
• ECSA registration an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Conduct traffic studies and network analyses.
• Design traffic control systems and intersections.
• Develop transportation plans including public transport and non-motorized facilities.
• Model using VISSIM/TransCAD/AIMSUN to evaluate performance.
• Prepare technical reports and feasibility studies.
• Collaborate with urban planners, government agencies, and stakeholders.
• Assess environmental and social impacts of transportation projects.
• Support smart mobility and sustainable transport initiatives.
