Placements24 is seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer to lead transportation studies and road design projects in Klerksdorp, North West. You will shape mobility infrastructure, mentor engineers, and liaise with clients to deliver robust solutions.

The ideal candidate holds a BEng in Civil Engineering with a transportation focus, Pr.Eng. registration, 8+ years of experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, PTV Vissim and SIDRA.

• Pr.Eng. with ECSA registration.
• 8+ years in transportation engineering, road design and traffic engineering.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, PTV Vissim, SIDRA.
• Knowledge of SA road design standards (RED BOOK).
• Excellent report writing, communication and presentation skills.

About the Role

Our client, a prominent engineering consultancy, is seeking an experienced Senior Transportation Engineer to join their growing team in Klerksdorp . This role is integral to the planning, design, and implementation of transportation infrastructure projects, focusing on road networks and traffic management systems within the North West province. You will lead key projects, provide expert technical input, and mentor junior engineers, contributing significantly to the region's mobility and development. Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, with a specialization in Transportation Engineering.
• Professional registration as a Pr.Eng. with ECSA.
• A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in transportation engineering, including road design and traffic engineering.
• Proficiency in transportation planning and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, PTV Vissim, SIDRA INTERSECTION).
• Strong understanding of traffic engineering principles, geometric design, and traffic control devices.
• Experience with road design standards such as the South African Geometric Design Guide (RED BOOK).
• Excellent report writing, communication, and presentation skills.
• Proven ability to manage projects and lead technical teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
• A valid driver's license is required for site visits in and around Klerksdorp .
