Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Civil Engineer with a focus on transportation and road design to lead infrastructure projects in Mahikeng, North West. The role covers planning, design, and implementation of rural to urban road networks, collaborating with government bodies, developers, and construction teams.

You will design alignments, prepare tender documents, conduct traffic analyses, and oversee construction while adhering to design standards and environmental regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng essential.
• Minimum 6 years in transportation engineering and road design.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Pavement Management Systems, and traffic analysis tools.
• Strong knowledge of road construction materials, techniques, and project management.
• Experience with South African road design standards and environmental regulations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design road alignments, geometric design, pavement design, and drainage systems.
• Prepare drawings, specifications, and tender documents for road projects.
• Conduct traffic studies, capacity analyses, and safety assessments.
• Oversee construction activities ensuring compliance with standards and safety.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and authorities through the project lifecycle.
• Perform site investigations and feasibility studies for transportation projects.
