Placements24 is seeking a Transportation Engineer in Polokwane, Limpopo, to lead traffic impact assessments, modeling, and road design across local and regional projects. The role emphasizes collaboration with municipal and government stakeholders within a hybrid work setup.

You will contribute to master plans, corridor studies, and safety audits while mentoring junior engineers and ensuring adherence to South African standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with Transportation specialization.
• 6+ years of experience in transportation engineering including traffic analysis.
• Pr Eng registration with ECSA is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Conduct traffic impact assessments and develop traffic management plans.
• Model and simulate traffic using VISSIM or SIDRA.
• Design road intersections, roundabouts and traffic control systems.
• Develop transportation master plans and corridor studies.
• Analyze traffic data and identify improvements in existing networks.
• Prepare technical reports, drawings and specifications for transportation projects.
• Liaise with municipal authorities and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with transportation engineering standards and guidelines.
• Support planning and design of public transport infrastructure.
• Assist in safety audits and recommendations for road networks.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
