Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, SCM, or Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 6 years in transport planning, logistics, or supply chain operations with focus on network design.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize transport plans for daily/weekly/monthly operations.
• Analyze data: volumes, routes, costs, delivery times for improvements.
• Design routing and scheduling to minimize transit times and fuel use.
• Collaborate with fleet managers, dispatchers and drivers for execution.
• Identify risks and create contingency plans for transport network.
• Negotiate with 3PLs and carriers; manage SLAs.
• Ensure compliance with transport regs, safety and environmental policies.
• Use transport planning software and analytics tools for forecasting.
• Prepare reports on operations, metrics, and costs for senior management.
• Contribute to strategic development of transport and logistics infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in transport planning, logistics, or supply chain operations, with a strong focus on network design and optimization.
• Proven expertise in route planning software and advanced analytical techniques.
• In-depth understanding of the South African transportation landscape, including regulatory requirements and infrastructure.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a data-driven approach.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
