Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Logistics Planner, Transportation Planner, or similar role within the logistics or supply chain industry.
• Solid understanding of transportation management principles, route planning, and freight operations.
• Proficiency in using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and other logistics software.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills for dealing with carriers and internal teams.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• A degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
• Familiarity with the logistics landscape in Midrand and the broader Gauteng region.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Select appropriate transportation modes and carriers based on service requirements and cost-effectiveness.

• Track shipments in real-time and proactively address any delays or disruptions.
• Manage freight documentation, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and proof of delivery.
• Analyze transportation data to identify trends, assess carrier performance, and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate with warehouse and customer service teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment and delivery processes.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and company policies.
• Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) and other logistics software effectively.

This role is critical for the efficient planning and execution of transportation strategies, ensuring timely and cost-effective movement of goods for our client's diverse customer base. The Logistics Planner will be responsible for optimizing delivery routes, coordinating with carriers, managing freight schedules, and resolving logistical challenges to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
