This hybrid role involves a blend of on-site strategic planning and operational oversight, with potential for remote coordination on specific tasks. You will be instrumental in developing and executing optimal transport plans, managing complex schedules, and driving efficiency across a large fleet. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of transport dynamics, advanced planning software, and a proven ability to reduce costs while enhancing service delivery. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and continuously refine strategic transport plans and schedules for the company fleet.
• Utilize advanced transport planning and route optimization software to create the most efficient delivery routes, considering traffic, delivery windows, and vehicle capacity.
• Analyze transport data, KPIs, and operational performance to identify inefficiencies and cost-saving opportunities.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Research, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of comprehensive experience in transport planning, scheduling, and logistics management.
• Expertise in using advanced transport planning software (e.g., PTV Visum, RouteSmart, or similar) and route optimization tools.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
• In-depth understanding of fleet operations, vehicle types, and South African transport regulations.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, managing both strategic and operational responsibilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, for complex analysis and reporting.
• Leadership potential and experience in mentoring team members is highly valued.
• Experience in the e-commerce or retail distribution sector is a plus.
