Zusammenfassung

SANParks in Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park seeks a Senior Trade Worker at Nossob rest camp. The successful candidate will be an all-rounder with general technical skills, able to work independently at times and perform maintenance across buildings, services and equipment.

Responsibilities include planning and executing technical tasks, repairs to water, electrical, sewerage and plumbing systems, vehicle and equipment inspections, stock control, and assisting with administrative duties.

Qualifikationen

• 3–5 years related experience as a technical/maintenance Trade worker.
• NQF 5 Trade Workers Development Programs or technical courses are an added advantage.
• Trade Certificate in Electricity or Carpentry is an added advantage.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Aufgaben

• Maintain infrastructure including management and tourism buildings and staff housing.
• Assist planning, scheduling and execution of technical tasks at Nossob camp.
• Carry out civil and electrical maintenance, tiling, painting, plumbing, and welding as required.
• Perform repairs and routine maintenance to buildings, services (water, electrical, sewerage and septic tank systems, and waste management), equipment and pumps.
• Carry out daily vehicle, equipment and electricity supply inspections and log updates.
• Assist with general administrative tasks such as timesheets and month end statistics.
• Daily stock control, reporting and documentation of any anomalies to supervisor.
• General cleaning and upkeep of technical stores and equipment.
• Driving duties including transport of equipment, materials, and staff.
• Standby duties and overtime on weekends and public holidays when required.
• Assist with other ad-hoc tasks as required by Supervisor / Management.

A vacancy currently exists for a Senior Trade Worker at Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, situated in the Nossob rest camp. Successful candidate will be an all-rounder with general technical skills and be a problem solver and should have the ability to work independently at times.

• Code EB (code 8) essential while a Code EC (code 10) driver's license and a valid PDP will be an added advantage.
• 3 - 5 Years related experience as technical/maintenance Trade worker.
• Completed NQF 5 Trade Workers Development Programs or technical courses will serve as an added advantage.
• Trade Certificate in Electricity/Carpentry will serve as an added advantage.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain infrastructure (Management buildings, Tourism buildings, staff housing and general maintenance).
• Assist with planning, scheduling and execution of technical tasks at Nossob camp.
• Physically carrying out skilled and semi-skilled tasks such as Civil & Electrical maintenance (minor electrical work), tiling, painting, and plumbing, building and welding in accordance with predetermined quality and productivity, and set standards.
• Trade related work such as repairs or routine maintenance to buildings, structures, services (water, electrical, sewerage and septic tank systems, and waste management), equipment, water pumps, etc.
• Daily vehicle, equipment and electricity supply inspections, maintenance thereof and update of applicable log sheets.
• Assist with general administrative tasks such as completing timesheets, leave forms and month end statistics.
• Daily stock control, reporting and documentation of any anomalies to supervisor.
• General cleaning and upkeep of technical stores and equipment.
• Driving duties including transport of equipment, materials, and staff.
• Do standby duties and work overtime on weekends & public holidays when required.
• Assist with other ad-hoc tasks as required by Supervisor / Management.

If invited for interview - A practical skills test (Competency test) on various technical aspects will follow the in person verbal interviews. Please come prepared.

The remuneration package includes a basic salary, based on the salary scale of a position with a Paterson B5 grade and benefits as specified in the HR Tariff Document and Conditions of Services of SANParks. It will be required of the incumbent to take up accommodation inside the park.
