Job summary

Wild Dreams Hospitality is seeking a skilled maintenance supervisor to manage preventative maintenance across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house in a remote bush environment. The role requires supervising a team, strong hands-on capability in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and related trades, and the ability to troubleshoot independently in a remote location.

Applicants should have 3–5 years in maintenance, a trade qualification (advantageous), and a valid driver’s licence.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience in a maintenance role, preferably within a safari lodge or remote hospitality setting.
• Proven experience supervising or leading a team.
• Strong hands-on skills across electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, welding, and general repairs.
• Trade qualification advantageous.
• Valid driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage a preventative maintenance programme across guest rooms, public areas, staff accommodation, and back-of-house.
• Carry out regular inspections and address faults promptly.
• Maintain generators, solar systems, boreholes, pumps, filtration, sewage systems, and firefighting equipment.
• Supervise, train, and motivate the maintenance team.
• Allocate daily and weekly tasks and monitor progress against deadlines.
• Enforce safety protocols and correct use of tools and equipment.
• Keep guest areas to luxury standards and resolve guest-related issues discreetly.
• Work closely with Housekeeping and Front-of-House to resolve room and public area defects.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments, report hazards immediately, and keep safety equipment and emergency systems operational.
• Ensure safe storage and handling of tools, chemicals, and hazardous materials.
• Support water, power, and waste management initiatives in line with conservation principles.
• Report to the Resident Manager.

Core Criteria:

On Offer:

• Salary of R13,000 per month CTC
• Live-in position in a remote bush environment
• Food and uniform provided
• Three weeks on, seven days off
• 5% provident fund contribution (compulsory membership; not part of the CTC package)
