About the Role

Our client, a prominent telecommunications infrastructure company, is seeking a seasoned Senior Telecoms Project Manager to lead and oversee diverse projects within Mossel Bay, Western Cape. This role is essential for ensuring the successful execution of complex telecommunications deployments, from initial planning and design through to implementation and final handover. The ideal candidate will possess a strong track record in managing large-scale projects, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This is a leadership position with significant responsibility, offering the chance to shape key infrastructure developments in the Mossel Bay region.

Key Responsibilities

• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
• Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, budget management, and risk assessment.
• Lead and manage project teams comprising engineers, technicians, contractors, and other personnel.
• Oversee the execution of telecommunications projects, including network builds, upgrades, and technology deployments.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential issues or delays, and implement corrective actions proactively.
• Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure financial controls are maintained.
• Facilitate regular project status meetings with teams and stakeholders, providing clear and concise updates.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
• Manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and clients, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
• Conduct post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement in future projects.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• A minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in project management, with at least 5 years specifically within the telecommunications industry.
• Proven experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously, with a demonstrated ability to deliver successful outcomes.
• Strong understanding of telecommunications technologies, infrastructure, and deployment methodologies.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability in risk management, budget control, and stakeholder management.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) or Prince2 certification is highly desirable.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Experience managing projects in the Western Cape region, specifically Mossel Bay, is a significant advantage.
