Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead deployment and expansion of telecommunications network infrastructure in Polokwane, Limpopo, South Africa. You will manage multi-site projects from site acquisition to handover, coordinating engineers, technicians and contractors to ensure delivery on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years focused on telecommunications infrastructure projects (fiber deployment, mobile network rollout).
• PMP or equivalent certification is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee planning, execution, and completion of telecommunications infrastructure projects, including fiber optic networks and mobile base stations.
• Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, and resources effectively.
• Lead cross-functional project teams, including engineers, technicians, and contractors.
• Ensure adherence to network design specs, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage vendor and supplier relationships, including contract negotiations and performance monitoring.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
• Coordinate with internal departments (Operations, Sales, Customer Service) and external stakeholders.
• Conduct site surveys and project progress reviews for quality and compliance.
• Prepare and present detailed project status reports to senior management and key stakeholders.

About the Role

Our client, a leading telecommunications provider, is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the deployment and expansion of their network infrastructure. • Strong understanding of telecommunications technologies, including fiber optics, wireless communication, and network infrastructure.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and network planning tools.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience managing field teams and third-party contractors in **Polokwane, Limpopo**.
• Knowledge of **South African telecommunications regulations** and permitting processes.
• PMP or equivalent project management certification is highly desirable.
• Ability to travel within the Limpopo province as required.
