Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Telecoms Infrastructure Engineer to join our client in East London. You will design, implement, and maintain the physical and logical infrastructure that underpins the telecoms network, leading complex projects and mentoring junior engineers.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure robustness, scalability and reliability of network assets while aligning with business goals and emerging technologies in the Eastern Cape

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years in telecommunications infrastructure design and management.
• Strong knowledge of fiber optic networks, transmission systems, power systems, and data center infrastructure.
• Experience with project management methodologies and tools.
• Proficiency in network planning and design software.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and oversee deployment of telecommunications infrastructure, including fiber optic networks, base stations, and data centers.
• Manage network infrastructure projects from inception through to completion, ensuring adherence to budget and timeline.
• Perform capacity planning and forecasting for network infrastructure growth.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure-related issues impacting network performance.
• Develop and implement standards and best practices for infrastructure deployment and maintenance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure infrastructure aligns with business objectives and technological advancements in the telecoms sector.
