Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Telecoms Systems Architect in Stellenbosch to design and guide the evolution of core telecommunications systems. Lead architectural roadmaps, set technical standards, and ensure scalable, secure, and high-performance networks and service platforms.

You will collaborate with engineering, product management, and operations to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions and drive the architectural direction of a leading telecommunications

Qualifications

Advanced degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field; PhD preferred.
12+ years of experience in telecommunications systems design and architecture.
Deep expertise in telecom network architecture, including mobile (4G/5G), IP networking, and cloud-native platforms.

Responsibilities

Design high-level architectural solutions for new telecommunications services and infrastructure components.
Define technical standards, best practices, and guidelines for system development and deployment.
Evaluate and recommend new technologies and platforms to enhance network capabilities and service offerings.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to development and engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Conduct architectural reviews, performance analysis, and capacity planning for critical systems.
Ensure designs adhere to security principles and regulatory compliance requirements.
