Job summary

Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd is seeking a Senior Technologist Engineering (Electrical) to develop and support technology strategies, standards, specifications and designs for power station engineering teams in the Free State. You will lead technical investigations and contribute to sector-wide technology forums.

The role demands 4+ years of engineering planning and design experience, ECSA professional technologist registration, and a focus on electrical power systems.

Qualifications

• B Tech or National Higher Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Engineering (NQF7) with 360 credits.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in engineering planning and design for power stations/substations and related technologies.
• Registered professional technologist with ECSA.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical consulting and investigating services.
• Provide and integrate engineering solutions or designs for asset creation.
• Develop and approve discipline specific philosophies, technical standards, procedures, work practices and specifications.
• Manage and conduct product, equipment, material, service and change impact evaluations.
• Provide input into discipline specific technology vision strategy and direction setting.
• Conduct discipline specific technology research.
• Participate in national and international technical forums.
• Provide professional technical leadership.
