Job summary

Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd in South Africa seeks a Senior Technologist Maintenance Strategies to lead technology strategies and engineering design for asset management at Megawatt Park, Sunninghill. The role focuses on developing and supporting technology standards and delivering high-quality engineering solutions for substations and transmission technologies.

The position requires a B Tech or equivalent with ECSA Professional Technologist registration, plus at least 4 years of engineering

Qualifications

• 4 years of technical experience in engineering related technologies.
• Experience in engineering design, design integration and engineering management in transmission technologies for substations.
• Experience in overhead line engineering design, secondary plant design, protection, telecommunication, measurements metering, civil design and control.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical consulting and investigates customer needs.
• Produces and integrates engineering solutions for asset creation.
• Develops and approves discipline standards, procedures, and specifications for approval.
• Manages and conducts product, equipment, material, service and change impact evaluation.
• Provides input into discipline specific technology vision strategy and direction setting.
• Conducts discipline specific technology research into new technologies.
• Participates in national and international technical forums.
• Provides professional technical leadership for technologists in different disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides a technical consulting and investigating service for customers.
