Job summary

Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd seeks a senior engineering technologist to develop technology strategy and oversee complex engineering solutions for Megawatt Park, Sunninghill. Location: Megawatt Park, Sunninghill. Contract: Permanent.

The role requires 7+ years of experience, BTech in engineering (NQF7) and ECSA professional technologist registration. You will drive technical standards and collaborate across disciplines.

Qualifications

• B Tech qualification in engineering (NQF7) with 360 credits.
• ECSA professional technologist registration preferred.
• 7 years of technical engineering experience in related technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop discipline-specific technology vision, strategy and direction setting.
• Develop and approve discipline-specific standards, procedures, and specifications.
• Oversee and integrate complex engineering solutions and asset design.
• Plan and conduct discipline-specific research on new technologies.
• Represent Eskom at national and international technical forums.
• Evaluate impact of products, equipment, services and changes.
• Provide technical consulting and leadership to senior technologists and engineers.
• Lead and mentor technical teams across disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop discipline-specific technology vision, strategy and direction setting.
• Develop and approve discipline specific philosophies, technical standards, procedures, work practices and specifications.
• Oversee, produce and integrate complex engineering solutions, design for asset creation.
• Plan and control discipline-specific research regarding new technologies.
• Represent Eskom at national and international technical forums.
• Manage and conduct complex product, equipment, material, service and change impact evaluations.
• Provide complex technical consulting and investigation service for customers.
• Provide professional technical leadership for senior technologists, senior engineers, technologists and engineers in different disciplines.

Related Minimum Experience

• 7 years technical experience engineering related technologies
• Maintenance, operations and/or technical support to the technical operations of power generation or power delivery (Transmission and Distribution) infrastructure.
• Experience in engineering technologies, standards, specifications. processes.
