Job summary

C3 Resource Investments (Pty) Ltd in Centurion, South Africa, seeks a Senior Structural Technical Draughtsman with Tekla Structures expertise to develop detailed 3D structural models, general arrangements and fabrication drawings for industrial gas cleaning, off-gas and process plant projects.

You will work closely with civil, structural, mechanical and process engineers, coordinating with other disciplines to produce accurate, constructible drawings and maintain drafting standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Draughting or equivalent relevant qualification.
• Minimum 8 years' structural draughting experience.
• Strong Tekla Structures – essential.
• Experience with structural steel detailing and fabrication drawings.
• Experience within industrial, process plant, gas cleaning or off-gas environments.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Navisworks or similar design/model coordination software.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Structural Technical Draughtsman with strong Tekla Structures expertise to join the Civil & Structural Engineering team.
You will be responsible for developing detailed 3D structural models, general arrangements and fabrication drawings for structural steel and civil structures associated with industrial gas cleaning, off-gas and process plant projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced structural draughtsman who enjoys technically challenging, multidisciplinary engineering projects and working closely with civil, structural, mechanical and process engineers.
Tekla Structures experience is essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 3D structural models for industrial and process plant structures
• Produce structural steel fabrication and manufacturing drawings
• Prepare general arrangement and structural layout drawings
• Produce reinforcement schedules for civil structures
• Prepare Bills of Quantities for costing purposes
• Assist with process plant and equipment layout development
• Interpret engineering drawings, client specifications and project requirements
• Coordinate structures with mechanical equipment, piping, ducting and other disciplines
• Participate in multidisciplinary 3D model reviews and incorporate design changes
• Work closely with engineers to develop practical, accurate and constructible solutions
• Update drawings and technical documentation throughout the project lifecycle
• Maintain drawing libraries and ensure compliance with company and industry drafting standards

Minimum Requirements

• Diploma in Draughting or equivalent relevant qualification
• Minimum 8 years' structural draughting experience
• Strong practical experience using Tekla Structures – essential
• Experience with structural steel detailing and fabrication drawings
• Experience within industrial, process plant, gas cleaning or off-gas environments
• Experience with AutoCAD, Navisworks or similar design/model coordination software
• Ability to interpret engineering specifications and multidisciplinary layouts
• Exposure to relevant standards and design codes such as SANS, EN and ASME would be advantageous
• Excellent attention to detail and technical accuracy
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team
