Job summary

Communicate Finance is seeking an experienced Business Analyst with a strong technical focus to join our team in South Africa. You will elicit and document complex requirements, bridge business and technical stakeholders, and translate needs into detailed specifications and user stories.

You will facilitate workshops, analyze processes for improvements, and collaborate with architects, developers, QA, and project managers throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4+ years' experience as a Business Analyst with a strong technical focus.
• Experience in requirements gathering, business process analysis, and solution design.
• Experience with system implementations, integrations, and digital transformation projects.
• Strong knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and SDLC methodologies.
• Experience creating user stories, process flows, and functional specifications.

Responsibilities

• Elicit, analyse, document, and validate complex business and system requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Elicit, analyse, document, and validate complex business and system requirements
• Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment
• Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications, user stories, process maps, and technical documentation
• Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews, and discovery sessions to understand business needs and pain points
• Analyse existing business processes and identify opportunities for improvement, automation, and digital transformation
• Collaborate with Solution Architects, Developers, Product Owners, QA Analysts, and Project Managers throughout the project lifecycle
• Support the design and implementation of system integrations, APIs, and data-driven solutions
• Conduct impact assessments, gap analyses, feasibility studies, and root cause investigations
• Define acceptance criteria and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), system testing, and solution validation
• Manage requirements traceability and ensure solutions align with business objectives and regulatory requirements
• Interpret and analyse data to support business decision-making and solution design
• Contribute to Agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and stakeholder reviews

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• Minimum 4+ years' experience as a Business Analyst with a strong technical focus
• Proven experience in requirements gathering, business process analysis, systems analysis, and solution design
• Experience working on system implementations, integrations, digital transformation, and software development projects
• Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, and SDLC methodologies
• Experience creating user stories, process flows, functional specifications, and business requirements documentation
• Proven ability to engage with stakeholders and collaborate effectively with business and technical teams
• Experience with SQL for data analysis, querying, and validation
• Knowledge of APIs, system integrations, and data mapping
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and facilitation skills
• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field Relevant BA certification will be advantageous
