Qualifications

• Master's degree in Architecture or Environmental Design.
• Minimum 9 years of sustainable design experience.
• GSAP or LEED AP accreditation.
• Experience managing green building certifications.
• Proficiency in energy modeling software (IES VE, eQUEST).
• Strong knowledge of building science and climate-responsive design.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of South African environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of sustainability strategies for architectural projects.
• Provide expert guidance on green building principles, materials, and technologies.
• Oversee and manage green building certification processes (e.g., Green Star SA, LEED) from application to final rating.
• Conduct energy modeling, performance analysis, and life cycle assessments.
• Collaborate with design teams to integrate passive and active sustainable design solutions.
• Develop innovative strategies for water conservation, waste reduction, and renewable energy integration.
• Educate clients and project teams on the value and implementation of sustainable design.
• Stay current with evolving sustainability standards, regulations, and best practices.
• Contribute to research and development in sustainable architectural solutions.
