Job summary

AECOM in Bloemfontein is seeking a Senior Technologist (Structures) to lead design delivery on data center projects. You will supervise junior staff, develop drawings and reports, and ensure high quality outputs using BIM tools (Revit, Tekla, Etabs).

The role requires a B.Tech in Civil Engineering (Structural) with 8+ years of experience and ECSA Pr.Tech registration. You will coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams, manage client expectations, and contribute to safe, cost-effective project

Qualifications

• B.Tech in Civil Engineering (Structural) required, ideally M.Eng.
• ECSA Pr.Tech registration for at least 3 years.
• Experience leading structural project teams and client engagement.

Responsibilities

• Lead a design team of junior and mid-level Structures staff and provide mentorship, direction, and motivation on a daily basis and in a strategic manner to ensure AECOM remains an employer of choice for structural skills.
• Ensure assigned teams coordinate with other disciplines for fully coordinated design deliverables and support construction supervision teams.
• Bring projects together to exceed individual contributions with high standards and timely delivery.
• Provide coaching to less experienced staff to increase technical competence and BIM knowledge.
• Technically lead projects, supporting Project Managers to deliver within scope, budget and timeframe.
• Interface with clients on schedules, meetings and issues, managing expectations.
• Apply diversified knowledge of engineering principles across broad assignments.
• Support digital transformation and BIM adoption within the discipline.
