Job summary

SGS Bateman in South Africa seeks an experienced Mechanical/Structural Engineer to lead safe, cost-effective design across mining projects. You will produce civil/structural designs and tender documents while coordinating with Drawing Office and stakeholders throughout the project life cycle.

The role requires at least 6 years in engineering design, strong piping and 3D modelling skills, and proficiency with AutoCAD Plant 3D. Professional registration with ECSA is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years' engineering design experience in mining or related industrial plants.
• Proven piping design and 3D modelling experience.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and structural design criteria and standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop civil/structural designs that are cost-effective and safe.
• Produce tender and project design documents.
• Monitor project program and deliverables; provide regular status reports.
• Coordinate with Drawing Office and other departments to ensure timely drawings.
• Review QA procedures and participate in audits.
• Ensure compliance with company specifications and standards.
