Job summary

Lusaphops is seeking a Senior Piping Designer for a Johannesburg-based role in the mining sector. The successful candidate will lead piping design, ensure compliance with project requirements and standards, and provide guidance throughout design, procurement, and commissioning phases.

Must have extensive piping design experience, exposure to stress analysis tools, and a strong grasp of 3D modeling environments. ECSA/Pr. Eng credentials preferred and global projects may apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years piping design experience in mining/minerals processing or oil & gas
• ECSA registered or Pr.Eng preferred
• Knowledge of piping materials selection and supports

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise piping design within projects
• Prepare piping specifications, datasheets and design criteria
• Contribute to PFDs and P&IDs, line lists and SPI lists
• Review design documents and comments from other disciplines
• Provide engineering input during plant installation and commissioning
• Ensure designs meet project requirements, standards and budgets
• Assist with tenders and contractor adjudications
• Maintain project filing systems and progress reporting
