Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our Bloemfontein team. You will lead design efforts for commercial, industrial, and residential projects, performing advanced structural analyses and developing drawings and calculations.

Must hold a Master's in Structural Engineering and Pr Eng with ECSA, plus 8+ years of relevant experience. Relocation to Bloemfontein is required or preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering or related field.
• Pr Eng registration with ECSA is mandatory.
• Minimum 8 years of post-graduate experience in structural design and project management.
• Proficiency in reinforced concrete, structural steel, and masonry design.
• Experience with ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro and AutoCAD.
• Based in Bloemfontein or willing to relocate.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design for commercial, industrial, and residential buildings and other infrastructure.
• Perform complex structural analyses using advanced software for concrete, steel, and timber structures.
• Develop detailed structural drawings, specifications, and calculations.
• Conduct site inspections during construction to ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
• Collaborate with architects, project managers, and other engineering disciplines for integrated design solutions.
• Review project proposals, technical reports, and feasibility studies.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources effectively.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and foster technical excellence.
• Ensure compliance with NBR and SANS standards.
• Liaise with clients and regulatory authorities throughout the project lifecycle.
