Placements24 invites a Senior Structural Engineer to join the Vereeniging practice, guiding the structural design of diverse building projects from concept to completion. You will mentor junior engineers, ensure safety and code compliance, and collaborate with architects and contractors.

Based in Gauteng with a hybrid work model, the role emphasizes client liaison, project leadership, and continued professional growth within a dynamic engineering team.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering or a related field.
• Professional registration as Pr. Eng. with ECSA.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in structural design of buildings.
• Strong knowledge of South African building codes (NBR/SANS).
• Experience with ETABS, SAP2000, Revit Structure and Prokon.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design process for various building types, including high-rise, commercial, and residential structures.
• Perform complex structural analysis and design using advanced software.
• Prepare detailed structural drawings, specifications, and calculation reports.
• Ensure designs comply with NBR, SANS codes and other standards.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for structural design elements.
• Mentor and supervise junior structural engineers and technicians.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
• Conduct site inspections and provide structural advice during construction.
• Review shop drawings and respond to site queries.
• Contribute to business development, proposal writing, and client presentations.
