Job summary

Placements24 seeks a highly competent Structural Civil Engineer for our client in Vereeniging. The role is primarily office-based with possible site visits, focusing on the structural design of buildings and infrastructure to ensure safety and durability.

You will work on diverse projects, coordinating with architects and project managers, and applying NBR and SANS standards throughout the design process.

Qualifications

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering.
• Pr Eng (ECSA) registration is essential.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in structural engineering design.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (Prokon, SAP2000, ETABS).
• Strong knowledge of concrete, steel and masonry design codes.
• Experience with foundation design and soil-structure interaction is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for buildings, bridges and other civil infrastructure.
• Develop detailed structural drawings, specifications and calculations using relevant software.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor progress and ensure adherence to design specifications.
• Collaborate with architects, project managers and other engineers to integrate structural designs.
• Review shop drawings and respond to site queries during construction.
• Ensure designs comply with National Building Regulations (NBR) and SANS standards.
