Job summary

S‑RM is seeking a Senior Associate, Strategic Intelligence to lead a small team of analysts managing the GSI platform in Cape Town. You will ensure timely, high‑quality security insights and geopolitical analyses for risk managers and crisis responders.

The role emphasizes people leadership, training, editorial oversight, and coordinating 24/7 threat monitoring with cross‑functional teams. Cape Town hybrid work with in-office presence required.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate degree or equivalent.
• 4–6 years in a similar role, with at least two years in managing a team.
• Experience in threat intelligence research, writing and analysis.
• Experience coordinating, managing and editing analytical outputs.
• Experience delivering analysis using structured methodologies (threat assessments, horizon scanning).

Responsibilities

• Direct line management for analysts maintaining GSI outputs, including editorial oversight of 220+ country risk reports and scores.
• Quality assurance for security alerts sent to clients as part of a Daily Digest.
• Coordination of quarterly thought leadership bulletins on political violence, security and geopolitical risks.
• Coordination and management of a 24/7, time-sensitive intelligence rota for crisis responders.
• Liaising with the technical support team to maintain GSI platform functionality.
