Job summary

Placements24 is recruiting a Senior Sous Chef for a renowned fine-dining venue in George, Western Cape. You will support the Head Chef in all kitchen operations, lead a skilled team, and contribute to menu development and impeccable plating.

You will drive food safety compliance, cost control, and inventory management while delivering creative, high-quality dishes in a fast-paced environment at a premier Western Cape location.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to plan diverse menus and daily specials.
• Strong leadership and mentoring of junior kitchen staff.
• Excellent knowledge of food safety and HACCP regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Chef in planning and executing menus.
• Supervise and mentor kitchen staff; provide training on techniques.
• Ensure consistent quality and presentation of dishes.
• Manage inventory: stock, ordering, receiving; minimize waste.
• Maintain HACCP standards and kitchen hygiene.
• Contribute to menu development and new recipes.
• Oversee operations in Head Chef's absence.
• Oversee equipment maintenance and safe work environment.
• Control food costs and contribute to profitability targets.
• Collaborate with front-of-house for smooth service.
