Placements24 is seeking a Principal Solar Farm Project Manager to lead large-scale solar infrastructure projects in George, Western Cape. You will drive end-to-end delivery from planning and site acquisition through construction, commissioning, and handover.

The role demands executive leadership, deep solar industry knowledge, and proven success delivering utility-scale projects on time and within budget. Expect travel and strategic stakeholder engagement as part of your responsibilities.

Qualificações

• Master's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• 10-15 years of experience in project management, with at least 7 years focused on utility-scale solar power projects.
• Proven track record delivering projects exceeding 100MW in capacity.
• Knowledge of solar technology, project finance, EPC/PPA contracts, and regulatory frameworks.
• Ability to manage complex stakeholder environments including government agencies, investors, and communities.
• PMP or equivalent certification is strongly preferred.
• Experience with MS Project, Primavera P6 or similar software.
• Strong financial modeling and risk assessment for renewables.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the region and potentially internationally.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee the complete lifecycle of major solar farm projects, ensuring alignment with objectives and stakeholder expectations.
• Develop and manage comprehensive project plans including scope, schedule, budget, risk, and resources.
• Lead and motivate multidisciplinary teams, fostering high-performance culture.
• Liaise with authorities, regulators, and community stakeholders to secure permits.
• Manage relationships with EPC contractors, suppliers, and vendors for quality and compliance.
• Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and due diligence for new opportunities.
• Implement risk management strategies to identify and mitigate challenges.
• Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Monitor progress, financial performance, and KPIs; report to senior management.
• Drive continuous improvement in PM processes and methodologies.
