Qualifications

• Qualified Electrician with a recognised electrical trade qualification.
• Relevant solar/PV qualifications and certifications.
• Proven experience with solar PV systems, inverters, batteries, and electrical installations.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee solar PV and electrical installations.
• Plan and coordinate projects, staff, equipment, and materials.
• Supervise electricians, technicians, and installation teams.
• Ensure installations are completed safely, correctly, and within required timelines.
• Commission, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair solar systems.
• Diagnose faults relating to inverters, batteries, panels, electrical components, and system performance.
• Manage daily operational and administrative requirements.
• Coordinate purchasing, stock, materials, and equipment required for projects.
• Liaise professionally with clients, suppliers, and contractors.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, and job records.
• Ensure compliance with relevant electrical, health and safety, and industry standards.
• Train and develop junior technical staff.
• Take responsibility for the quality and performance of completed installations.

Cradock Area, Eastern Cape – South Africa: Our client is seeking a highly experienced and qualified Senior Solar Electrician / Solar Operations Manager to oversee solar installations, electrical operations, staff, and the day‑to‑day administration of the business. This is a senior, hands‑on position requiring a candidate with strong technical solar and electrical expertise, combined with the ability to manage teams, projects, clients, administration, and operational requirements. The successful candidate must be capable of taking ownership of projects from planning and installation through to commissioning, maintenance, and fault finding.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Qualified Electrician with a recognised electrical trade qualification
• Relevant solar/PV qualifications and certifications
• Proven experience with solar PV systems, inverters, batteries, and electrical installations
• Strong knowledge of solar system installation, commissioning, maintenance, and fault finding
• Experience managing solar installation projects and technical teams
• Strong staff supervision and leadership skills
• Good administrative and organisational ability
• Computer literate
• Strong client communication and problem‑solving skills
• Valid driver's licence
• Must be willing to work hands‑on and travel to project sites when required
